API was established over 50 years ago with the mission of engineering and delivering the highest quality shipping and cushioning solutions available. Advanced Packaging was founded on the concept of providing a better way to protect high valued items during transit rather than the standard idea of a corrugated box or wood crate. API’s story began over 50 years ago when API received a program from Westinghouse (now Northup Grumman) and then sourced out a rotomolding company (Hardigg Industries) in the U.S. to create a custom container for their project, hence the plastic case industry was born.

Since then our worldwide customer base has grown to include those in the military, government, commercial, industrial, medical, aerospace, and many others. API has continued to add to our core competencies of protective case solutions and precision foam cutting, by incorporating electronic systems integration within rugged containers. All of this helps to provide our customer base with a single source for their complete engineered packaging solution; no matter their overall needs.

Unlike the majority of our competition, API is not a broker. Rather, our custom production work is done completely in-house, affording us total control over the design and production process. Our design staff reviews our customers’ equipment and packaging requirements in order to provide effective and efficient protective packaging. We also have the ability to provide our customers with drop test, vibration certification, submersion testing, shock testing, and reusable cost benefit analysis.
