In 2005 a small group of enthusiastic people from the coding and marking industry identified a number of recurring problems that were prevalent, particularly in the manufacture of food and beverage products. The lack of integration and communication between different brands of equipment was one frustration, whilst date coding errors and packaging errors were a major headache.

The launch of AutoCoding Systems aimed to address both these and other issues by providing solutions for the control and automation of packaging line devices. These solutions cover areas such as automatic date coding and coding control, packaging verification and label verification. Over the years the AutoCoding solution has been developed using the latest techniques in software engineering and now many years on, with a team of over 35 people, we have installed the AutoCoding solution on more than 1200 packaging lines in the UK and Ireland, US, Australia and SE Asia.

Fast forward 15 years and at the beginning of 2021 AutoCoding Systems was acquired by the multi-billion $ company, JBT Corporation. AutoCoding Systems are now part of the Food Tech division which supplies customised food processing solutions and services across the breadth of the global food processing industry. AutoCoding Systems now has the opportunity to work closely with other companies within the JBT group, such as Proseal whose tray sealing equipment is already present on many of the packaging lines controlled by an AutoCoding solution.
