Aptar Introduces Inverted Lidless Closure for Beauty and Personal Care

Aptar Closures has introduced a new range of Inverted Lidless dispensing closures designed to redefine dispensing convenience in the beauty and personal care industry. The first products in the range, Cleo and Airy, eliminate the need for separate lids while enabling an inverted, ready-to-dispense packaging format that helps minimize spills, drips, and product waste.

Designed with premium aesthetics and enhanced functionality, the closures are suitable for a wide variety of applications including shampoos, conditioners, body washes, baby soaps, lotions, and pet shampoos. Aptar’s innovative inverted lidless technology is already being used in a pet care shampoo range in China, with additional variants introduced for home care and hair care products.

Both Cleo and Airy closures incorporate Aptar Closures’ proprietary SimpliSqueeze® flow control valve technology. The valve opens with a gentle squeeze and closes automatically when pressure is released, removing the need to touch the closure directly. This design helps reduce accidental dispensing and prevents foreign particle contamination while ensuring a smooth dispensing experience with a clean product cutoff.

The Inverted Lidless series has been developed to enhance consumer convenience and accessibility. The one-handed dispensing functionality allows users to easily dispense products even with wet hands, making it particularly beneficial for consumers such as parents bathing infants or users seeking greater ease of handling.

While Cleo and Airy feature distinct specifications, both closures share core advantages including an “always open” ready-to-use design and compatibility with varying product viscosities. Their modern inverted lidless appearance is also designed to deliver strong shelf appeal.

Manufactured in the United States, the Cleo closure is compatible with 28-400 and 33-400 neck finishes, measures 2.125 inches in diameter, and features a crab claw seal with a 0.375-inch orifice. The Airy closure is designed for 28-410 neck finishes, has a 2.12-inch diameter, and incorporates a plug seal with a 0.3-inch orifice. Both closures are available with frost finishes.
