Constantia Flexibles Introduces Confectionery Packaging Solution

Constantia Flexibles has unveiled EcoTwistPaper, a pioneering packaging solution tailored for the confectionery industry. This innovative twist-wrap is wax-free and crafted entirely from paper, emphasizing recyclability to align with the global trend toward sustainable products.

EcoTwistPaper has excelled in repulpability testing conducted by the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI), achieving an impressive score of 90 out of 100 for its printed material. This high score underscores its effectiveness in the recycling process.

Unlike traditional twist-wraps, EcoTwistPaper does not incorporate components that hinder paper recycling, such as wax or polymeric coatings. It offers superior product protection and wrapping capabilities. Additionally, EcoTwistPaper is not affected by the Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD) since it contains no plastic coatings.

The paper's softness, achieved through advanced mechanical treatments, makes it ideal for wrapping various sweets and treats. It is designed to work seamlessly with existing machinery and can be recycled within the paper waste stream.

The introduction of EcoTwistPaper addresses the growing consumer and regulatory demand for more sustainable packaging solutions. This new option enables manufacturers and brands to present their confectionery products in packaging that is not only aesthetically pleasing and functional but also designed with recyclability in mind.
