KM Packaging Introduces K-Peel 4G - PET Lidding Film
KM Packaging is proud to announce the launch of K-Peel 4G, a new mono PET lidding film specification designed to meet a wide range of food packaging needs.
K-Peel 4G features a low seal initiation temperature and can seal effectively even through contamination. Clean peels are achievable from as low as 110°C with a dwell time of just 0.3 seconds.
Thanks to its low seal initiation temperature, K-Peel 4G is compatible with all PET trays and delivers strong, clean peels on APET and rPET trays. It also excels with trays that typically present sealing challenges due to their thickness or limited sealing area.
The versatility of K-Peel 4G extends to ambient, chilled, and frozen applications, and the film is ovenable. Additionally, it boasts anti-fog properties and meets OM7 migration testing standards, making it suitable for a broad spectrum of uses within the food industry.
Alan Lockhart, Commercial Director – UK & Eire, comments on the launch of this new material:
“We’re pleased to be able to launch this new material into the marketplace. The advantages of a low seal imitation temperature means K-Peel 4G has a broad range of lidding applications across the industry. The adaptability of 4G is what sets it apart from the rest.”
The material is available in two gauges, 21 microns and 25 microns. This lower gauge can make it the right choice for reducing the thickness of films in production.
Alan Lockhart, Commercial Director – UK & Eire, comments on the materials position with regards to upcoming EPR legislation:
“Whilst the impact of EPR and RAM may question the cost impact on PET based films, ultimately their efficiency, low weight, ovenability and ease of use prove that they still have a relevant and valuable place in the tray sealing and lidding film arena.”
