Large Slitter for 73” and 84” Products – JLS 73 & 84

The standard JLS model is utilized in high volume applications where automation is necessary.  It can be used for a wide variety of roll products: kraft, butcher, house wrap, roofing materials, masking, plotter, engineering, counter, indented bogus, newsprint, laminating, doctor exam, flexible packaging, film and many more.

Description

This fully automatic large roll slitter rewinder utilizes two bedrollers and a top rider roller that applies programmable torque and regulated down pressure to accurately control tension and fundamental winding technology throughout the winding cycle.

From a shaftless unwind stand the web goes through a dancer tension control system providing superior tension control during rapid accels and decels. A bowed roller spreads the web prior to slitting using shear, razor, or score cutting methods.

Cores ranging from 1.18 to 3.50 inches in diameter are automatically fed from a standard table or optional hopper into the core loader, and placed into the winding station. Jennerjahn’s shaftless rewind technology replaces outdated and inefficient rewind mandrel systems by using easily interchangeable chucks for various core diameters to secure the cores during the winding cycle. Roll starts are achieved with a tuck blade for non-adhesive starts or transfer adhesive applied automatically to the core.

After winding, the tails are automatically cut and secured to the roll by glue or adhesive sealing tabs. The finished rolls from 2.5 to 18 inches in diameter are then transferred by conveyor to a packing table or down-stream roll processing equipment.

The JLS can be modified and equipped with numerous options, special features and custom specifications.

Typical Uses: The standard JLS model is utilized in high volume applications where automation is necessary. It can be used for a wide variety of roll products: kraft, butcher, house wrap, roofing materials, masking, plotter, engineering, counter, indented bogus, newsprint, laminating, doctor exam, flexible packaging, film and many more.

Operator Responsibilities per Cycle: The operator simply loads cores onto the staging table or optional core hopper. The machine does the rest.

Automation: Cores are automatically fed into a staging area located under the autoloader. The machine inserts the cores into the rewinding station, cuts the tails, wraps the tails around the cores, tucks the tails, winds the roll to the desired length, transfers the rolls to the seal station, seals the tails of the finished rolls, transfers the rolls to an exit conveyor and conveys the rolls outside of the machine to the integrated packing table.
