CLAMSHELLS

Clamshells, also known as folding packaging, are one-piece packaging consisting of two halves that are connected by a hinge area so that the box can be closed. They are used in fast food, take-away and quick service areas (mostly burger boxes).

Packaging in this segment must be designed in such a way that it is available open and can be closed with a single movement. Hinged packaging can be manufactured in a variety of shapes and folds and must meet high requirements in terms of flexibility and malleability. In addition, clamshell packaging has to comply with strict food law requirements.

• Excellent printability
• Suitable for direct contact with food (migration-free)
• Grease barrier to protect against grease stains
• Protection against burns
• Deep drawability for deformability
