foam rubber

Sponge rubber is a rubber-based material mainly used for insulation and sealing.

Sponge rubber is made of natural and / or synthetic rubbers, which ensures different properties of the material depending on the mixture. Sponge rubber has a mixed cellular structure with predominantly open cells and a dense outer skin.

In contrast to cellular rubber, which is also made of rubber, moss rubber has a closed outer skin. Due to the dense, robust and elastic outer skin, the surface of sponge rubber is fundamentally better protected from external influences than that of cellular rubber. The outer skin also ensures excellent sealing properties. However, if the surface is damaged, the material may become saturated with liquid due to its open cells. The mixed-cellular structure of sponge rubber ensures high elasticity and good resilience. The material adheres tightly to all surrounding surfaces even under light pressure, thereby sealing off.

• high compressibility

• excellent sealing properties (with outer skin)

• good damping properties

• high aging and temperature resistance (EPDM)

• high oil resistance (CR / NBR)
