The design and geometry of a silo and its discharge system can affect the way products are discharged. The pattern of flow and type of discharge is dependent on many factors, but the two main types are:
CORE FLOWMASS FLOW
CORE FLOW (also known as Funnel Flow)
When it comes to the silo discharge with core flow, most silos, hoppers and bins give core flow due to the shallow cone and small outlet which is usually set by the materials flow and friction factor.
