CANPACK Group, a leading manufacturer of sustainable packaging solutions, has announced its second major greenfield investment in Colombia, highlighting its long-term commitment to developing the aluminium beverage can industry in the region. The new plant, valued at approximately USD 140 million, will be situated near Barranquilla in Colombia’s Caribbean region.

Backed by a long-term agreement with a strategic customer, the state-of-the-art plant will have an installed capacity of around 1 billion aluminium can bodies per year.

With this investment, CANPACK reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and regional economic development, bringing positive impact to the industry, consumers, and the local workforce.

The facility is expected to create around 160 highly skilled direct jobs in the Colombian Caribbean region.

Production is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
