About PPWR Factory Execution Forum 2026

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is a new European Union-wide legislative framework designed to reduce packaging waste, boost recycling, and promote a circular economy. It mandates that all packaging placed on the EU market must be recyclable by 2030, sets recycled content targets, and encourages reuse. By 2035, packaging must be both recyclable and effectively recycled at scale, meaning 30% for wood and at least 55% of all other packaging categories is successfully recycled EU-wide.

October 2026, is the timing when the EU regulative (in force from August 12, 2026) will sit in the ‘rollout and correction’ phase: At this time, companies will be eligible to implement and propose changes as in case if something cannot be met and ctr. Seeing line issues and updating specs for the next waves. The conference itself being hosted towards the end of October, will be a perfect timing for industry professionals to listen to case studies, network between each other and to share their stories.

Taking place in 21-22 October 2026 in Dusseldorf, Germany, the PPWR Factory Execution Forum comes at a critical point as companies begin implementing the regulation, identifying challenges and adapting their packaging strategies.

The event will bring together experts from Danone, Merck, Eastman Chemical Company, Henkel, Japan Tobacco International (JTI), Haleon and Anthesis. Bringing together perspectives from leading companies across food & beverage, healthcare, chemicals, consumer goods, tobacco, and sustainability consulting, the event will showcase how different industries are approaching PPWR implementation and transforming their packaging strategies to meet the upcoming regulatory requirements.
