Dow launches INNATE™ TF 220 precision packaging resin
Dow has announced major milestones showcasing its innovative INNATE™ TF 220 Precision Packaging Resin, designed to enable fully recyclable, high-performance biaxially oriented polyethylene (BOPE) films for flexible packaging. From material design to end-of-life solutions, Dow is partnering with stakeholders across the packaging value chain to develop impactful, scalable sustainability solutions — turning vision into commercial reality.
“Asia Pacific is where material science meets circular ambition,” said Bambang Candra, Commercial Vice President, APAC, Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics. “Through innovations like INNATE™ TF 220 resin and strong partnerships, we’re driving packaging circularity. This represents sustainability in action — helping brands balance performance with recyclability and scale the use of mono-material solutions and post-consumer recycled content. It’s how Dow transforms vision into measurable progress, supporting both our partners’ goals and the circular economy.”
Collaboration with Liby on Post-Consumer Recycled Resin Adoption
In collaboration with leading Chinese laundry detergent brand Liby, Dow supported the integration of 10% REVOLOOP™ Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Resin into the packaging of Liby’s new “Floral Era” detergent series. This initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions while maintaining durability, demonstrating how Dow’s circular solutions can be applied to high-volume packaging without sacrificing performance or consumer experience.
“As a leading laundry brand in China, Liby is committed to advancing plastic packaging circularity,” said Zhang Liping, General Manager of Liby Research and Development Center. “Our strategic partnership with Dow has led to innovations such as China’s first fully recyclable laundry packaging using Dow’s INNATE™ TF-BOPE and the new ‘Floral Era’ series with PCR resins. This long-term collaboration enhances the sustainable value of our products and reinforces our commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation.”
A Groundbreaking Resin for Design for Recyclability
Flexible packaging often struggles to meet both performance and recyclability demands. INNATE™ TF 220 Resin addresses this challenge with its unique molecular architecture, offering exceptional processing efficiency, improved extrusion stability, and enhanced biaxial stretching performance — all contributing to reduced manufacturing waste. It delivers superior stiffness, heat resistance, optical clarity, and abuse resistance, making it ideal for mono-material structures that meet rigorous performance requirements in applications like food & beverage, home, and personal care packaging.
This resin’s design-for-recyclability approach has inspired widespread collaborations across the packaging value chain. Converters and brand owners are leveraging TF-BOPE films to meet regional recycling regulations (such as China’s “Double Carbon” goals) and to future-proof their packaging portfolios.
Shaping the Future of Sustainable Packaging
From high-performance solutions using INNATE™ TF 220 resin to fully recyclable mono-material designs, Dow is pioneering closed-loop innovations that support the transition to a circular economy. By investing in circular materials, advanced recycling technologies, and design-for-recyclability initiatives, Dow is transforming the plastics industry — helping brands create packaging that supports reuse, recyclability, and greater resource efficiency.
