UPM Adhesive Materials Launches ProCycleβ’ Portfolio for Recycling-Compatible Label Solutions
UPM Adhesive Materials, a global provider of high-performance self-adhesive solutions, has launched the new UPM ProCycle™ portfolio of recycling-compatible label materials. The portfolio combines advanced adhesive technologies with circular product solutions, enabling converters and packaging brand owners to easily identify label options that support recognized recyclability standards.
The current UPM ProCycle™ portfolio is designed for rigid PET and HDPE packaging used across beverage, food, home care, and personal care applications. The solutions incorporate specialized adhesive technologies, including wash-off adhesives, which allow labels to separate efficiently during mechanical recycling processes such as washing and grinding, thereby supporting the production of high-quality recycled materials.
UPM ProCycle solutions are engineered to provide reliable adhesion, excellent print quality, and efficient converting performance across plastic, fiber, and glass packaging formats. All products within the portfolio are externally recognized as recycling compatible across multiple packaging types and regional markets, while independent testing validates critical functionalities such as clean label release.
“As packaging recyclability requirements and regulations evolve, UPM ProCycle helps converters and brands navigate the changes and stay compliant. Backed by UPM’s adhesive and sustainability expertise, the portfolio makes it easy to select label solutions for recyclability performance,” states Suvi Rasa, Manager of Circularity and Sustainable Product Design at UPM Adhesive Materials.
The portfolio will continue to expand with adhesive technologies and label products, addressing evolving circular packaging needs.
