The strength of a box depends on several factors, including: the fluting profile, the type of paper used and the thickness of that paper. Boxes are measured in ECT (edge crush testing or Mullen burst (burst strength).
It is key to choose the right board grade as the box may endure harsh environments during transit. The most common corrugated material is 32 ECT and is appropriate for most small parcel shipping products. See the below chart to see what standard board grade is right for your product:
