Flexographic printing

Flexographic printing

How does flexo printing work? Flexographic printing is a direct printing process that uses flexible printing forms (clichés) made of photopolymer. It is the leading printing process in the packaging industry! Flexographic printing offers optimal print quality on a wide variety of substrates.

Definition of flexographic printing

Flexographic printing is a direct relief printing process in which the inked and non-inked areas of the flexible printing form are at different heights. The raised areas are image-carrying. Flexographic printing is a very simple and universally applicable printing process, which is used primarily in the field of packaging printing. A wide variety of materials for primary and secondary packaging can be printed from small to very large print runs. Paper is printed with food-safe water-based inks.

Overview of flexographic printing technologies

Very different machine technologies have developed in flexographic printing. A general distinction is made between preprint and postprint.
