FEFCO is as an official system for corrugated boxes
A code is developed by FEFCO as an official system for descriptions of packaging with simple symbols internationally understood by all.
When you see a size for a box it is always written in this order:
Length x Width X Height mm
Many of the FEFCO boxes can be modified and used as bespoke design variants. Usually all packaging outers are one piece and consist of fitments or platforms for unique product items.
0200
One-piece, slotted-type boxes that are glued, stitched or taped. Top and bottom flaps for closure.
0300
Consisting of more than one piece and characterised by a lid and/or bottom telescoping over the body of the box.
0400
Usually consisting of only one piece of board. The bottom of the box is hinged to form two or all side walls and the cover. Locking tabs, handles, display panels etc., can be incorporated in some designs.
0500
Consisting of several pieces of liners and sleeves sliding in different directions into each other. This group also includes outside sleeves for other cases.
0700s
Consisting of one piece, shipped flat, requiring simple assembly.
