AboutIlm-Pack GmbH

History & location Ilm-Pack GmbH was founded on July 1st, 1991 and emerged from the former company Kartonagen Weimar-Tiefurt, which produced corrugated cardboard packaging and all the need for round cheese jars for the GDR.

The company name "Ilm-Pack" comes from the river Ilm, which flows through Weimar. The founding fathers were the long-time managing director Dieter Kienitz and one of the current managing directors, Thomas Netzer. Ralf Pelster joined the company as managing partner on January 1st, 2018. Thus, an optimal succession plan has been found.

Our central location in Thuringia enables fast and inexpensive deliveries to our customers throughout Germany.

Ilm-Pack GmbH is constantly developing both technically and personally in order to meet the growing demands of the market. A lot has been invested in this in recent years and another extensive investment package has been put together for 2019-2020.

Philosophy & environmental awareness

Our modern, medium-sized company is characterized by a high level of quality awareness, the service concept and a flat hierarchy that enables quick reactions with short delivery times in every respect.

Our quality management system has been certified since 2005, because delivering quality and offering the best possible service is very important to us.

We have been participating in the Thuringia Sustainability Agreement since April 2012. Our raw material is corrugated cardboard, a product that is recycled like no other. We obtain our corrugated cardboard from suppliers who can be shown to produce with paper from FSC-certified companies.

In addition, since 2011 we have been producing part of the amount of electricity required for production using our own PV system. Up to 70% of the electricity produced is used for personal consumption. We have been training packaging technologists in our company for many years and thus secure the skilled workers of tomorrow today.
