E-glass silencer repacking material

Not to be confused with the usual chopped strand or random fibre filling, this continuous filament of texturised E-glass is woven into a matted sheet and can be easily folded and rolled to fit into the absorption cavity of any silencer. The single very long strand is much more resistant to being blown out of the perforated holes than regular fibres. Once at operating temperature the stitching is designed to melt away allowing the material to fill voids to an even density. Recommended density is 180g/litre of cavity volume. Sound attenuation is dependant on specific frequencies emitted by the engine and can be optimised by experimentation with varying densities. Temperature range 600-750C
