Even if it sounds paradoxical: The key point with gusseted bags is their increased filling volume. They owe this to their more or less wide bottom fold that unfolds when the bag is filled. They are ideally suited for packaging a wide range of products with a wide variety of properties. This ranges from food such as toast, pasta or biscuits, animal feed, hygiene articles, powders or granulates to all kinds of textiles. When assembling the bottom gusset bag, a fold is inserted at the bow of the film - the later bottom gusset. Then the bottom gusset bag is welded off at the sides, so the bottom gusset bag always has two side seams. The bottom gusset leads to a significant increase in the filling volume and makes the bottom gusset bag the packaging of choice when it comes to accommodating greater filling heights than conventional flat bags can.
