Syntegon VFFS and dosage

Our partner, Syntegon Technology GmbH, is the leading supplier of vertical packaging machines, both globally and in the Nordic countries. Depending on the product to be packaged, the machine is equipped with different types of dosing. The "most common" type of dosage is multi-head weights, which are placed on top of the packing machine. We also supply this equipment, from various manufacturers. Syntegon is then the main supplier and is responsible for the entire line.

How a multi-head scale works

The weight consists of several-weight bowls that are placed in a circle under the feed chutes. The scale model determines the number of scales, but it is usually between 10-28 pieces. The product recipe is programmed into the multi-head scale, and on the basis of this it weighs the product. The product then falls into the synchronizing bowls, and from there the finished portion falls into the filling pipes of the packaging machines and into the bag. For example, for a 100g bag of goodies, a 16-head multi-head scale is used. Each weight bowl has an ideal weight of about 25g. The weight calculates and combines the weight of 4 bowls, a total of 100g. Depending on the model and product, you can get a capacity of up to 400 portions / packs per minute.

A multi-head scale can also be used for product counting. Instead of weighing the product, the number of products to be filled in the bag counts.

The multi-head scale can also act as a product mixer. With a free-standing feeding machine, for example, 4 different sweet products are added to the scale. The scale is programmed in four parts, and each part dispenses the programmed amount of product. The final product corresponds to the programmed quantity of the 4 products together.

Dosage manufacturers

Syntegon does not produce these scales itself, but cooperates with all manufacturers, and integrates these into the machine, if the customer so wishes. Syntegon is then responsible for the entire packaging line. Syntegon works closely with Yamato, Ishida, Multipond and Bilwinco. If you want to use another manufacturer, it is also possible.
