Thermal embossing

Thermal embossing

Embossing presses are hot presses with which thermoformable foams can be hot-formed, embossed and punched with special tools. Typical applications are engine compartment insulation and seat covers. Car interior fabrics can also be embossed with a pattern and give the textiles an interesting look. Meyer offers different press concepts depending on the requirements. Plate size, press stroke and pressing force depend on the project. We also offer solutions for production with blanks, but also from roll to roll.

Functionality

In contrast to thermoforming, thermal stamping uses a hot tool. In the embossing area, the material in the press is subjected to so much thermal stress that it no longer has any restoring force. This is the only way to ensure that the embossing pattern is permanently retained. With this process, patterns and contours are embossed into the materials in short cycle strokes.
