Valve bagging machines have a spout that is fully enclosed when filling through a "valve" on a paper or plastic valve type bag. Valve bags are self-sealing or self-closing and do not require a bag closing heat sealer or sewing machine. This minimizes product spill and dust emissions resulting in a much cleaner work environment. There are four main types of valve bagging machines including air, auger, impeller, and gravity-fed. The filling process can be manual, where an operator places a bag on the spout, or it can be fully automated using a valve bag placer machine.
These machines fill valve bags at rates up to 12 bags per minute, or 720 bags per hour. The filled bags typically weigh 20-110 pounds or 9-50 kilograms and can contain flakes, powders, or granular types of products.
