Modern International Corp.

Modern International was founded by my grandfather Salli Stern in 1944. We have grown to become the largest warehouse for steel wire and wire products on the Eastern Seaboard. From his beginnings on Washington Street in Manhattan, to our move to the current location in Long Island City in 1960, we, at Modern, have prided ourselves on sourcing the highest quality wire and wire products at competitive prices for all applications.

My father, Henry, guided the expansion of our business and product lines from 1965 to 1995. During that period, Modern International began selling steel and plastic strapping, as well as related packaging products. The strapping division is presently headed up by Ira halbfinger.

We have complemented our business recently, by adding a division of ferrous and non ferrous chain and chain-related products headed up by Rick Stein. . Through the addition of these experts in their fields, Modern International has grown to serve the complete spectrum of wire and wire products.
